Distinguished Alumni Awards
NOMINATION GUIDELINES
NOMINATION DEADLINE:
Monday, Oct. 1, 2007 (by 5 p.m. MST)
Eligibility
• Awards are open to alumni or friends unless otherwise specified in individual award criteria.
• Candidates may only be considered for one award category per year.
• Candidates are may only receive one award every five years.
• Past award recipients may not be re-nominated for the same award.
General Guidelines
• Nominations must be RECEIVED by the posted deadline.
Nominations received after the deadline are not guaranteed full consideration.
• All nominations must follow specific award guidelines. Specific guidelines are
listed on each award form.
Format
• All nominations must adhere to the size/length limitations specified within the guidelines
for each award. Nominations exceeding limitations may not receive full consideration.
• Electronic nominations (strongly encouraged)
1. Fill out and submit official CSUAA nomination form.
2. Send a separate e-mail including:
• Candidate’s vitae/resume (limited to 4 pages)
• Other documentation as requested by the specific award criteria
• Paper nominations must include (please do not place in binder)
1. Official CSUAA nomination form (available from CSU Alumni Association office or Web site)
2. Candidate’s vitae/resume (limited to 4 pages)
3. Other documentation as requested by the specific award criteria
Screening/Selection
• Should a candidate be nominated for two or more categories, the nominator(s)
will be contacted to determine best award category.
• Eligible nominations for the Morgan, Lory, Henry, Yates Faculty and GOLD awards are
screened and selected by the Alumni Association Awards Selection Committee.
• Eligible nominations for the College, Extension and Athletic awards are screened and
selected by their respective college, Extension or Athletic committees, OR by the Alumni
Association Awards Selection Committee.
• All committees are required to adhere to the same selection guidelines.
• Nominees not selected will be held over for reconsideration for two additional years.
o If necessary, rollover nominations must be modified to fit within current
guidelines/award criteria
o Nominator must complete a Reactivation/Update form (provided by the
CSU Alumni Association), by the stated deadline.
• Nominations will be reviewed by the selection committees and award recipient selections
will be made in mid to late November
Notification
• Immediately upon selection, award winners and nominators are notified by the CSU
Alumni Association Executive Director
• Recipients are highly encouraged to attend the annual awards event. Should an
award recipient be unable to attend, another person may be chosen by the recipient
to accept on his/her behalf.
• Award notifications will be made at the beginning of November. Recipient names will be made
public after each recipient has been notified.
